The junior championship is shaping up to be the most competitive yet with all of the championship contenders present for the Rally of the Lakes shootout.
With the large number of Juniors entered, Clerk of the Course Anthony O'Connor has decided to run all of those who entered on the opening day as opposed to the normal Sunday stages. This means the top young drivers in the country will get to sample some of the classic stages around the Beara peninsula. Jenna McCann leads the way after two rounds so far and she holds a single point advantage over Justin Ryan who was runner up in the Junior series last year. John McCabe was very impressive winning in Galway but retired early in West Cork. Brian Moore, Eric Calnan and Diarmuid Hallahan are also registered for the series and entered in Killarney in what should be a great battle.
